Swerdna Infotech and Queensland I.T. Solutions are the trading names of a family business headed up by me, John Andrews.

I've always been associated with computers beginning in my student days with Unix mainframes, just before the first PCs were introduced to the world.

After Uni (where I gained a Masters degree) I worked for Defence Science in Adelaide on the largest computer in the Southern Hemisphere, where I gained my Doctorate.

I switched to private business 20 years ago by establishing a computer leasing and rental company in Queensland.

Now a days life is less hectic, the kdz are grown up, and I run the family consultancy as Queensland I.T. Solutions, looking after the computer needs in Windows and Linux for folk in homes and small businesses in and around Brisbane (see the map).

Like many geeks, I mix computers and hobbies together. I am an Administrator of the Novell Help Forums for openSUSE Linux and a well known guru in openSUSE Linux and Ubuntu Linux. I'm one of Brisbane's go-to persons for new Linux users.

Another of my business interests that spill over to hobby land is writing websites, like this one. And best of all, I'm a hobby cook, please help yourself to the recipes. Bon Appetit.
