What's happening in the Champion Chef 2008 Competition: Follow the travails and triumphs of out contestants as they rotate through the weeks leading up to the Grand Finale in late November this year. This page gives you an overview of the schedule. See who's on now, who's on next week and how the contestants are faring in the great race.

Round 1 Scores: Chef Draga 55; Chef John 70; Chef Danny 75; Chef Toby NA

Next week: Chef John presents a pork rack roast with Asian themes.

A beef and red wine Jus sets off and complements the pork centerpiece. But the aromatic Kipfler mash really raises this offering to the gourmet level. And if that's not enough, a stunning Asian Ratatouille takes us to international levels. But it's Chef John's Wasabi mayonnaise that allows the humble pork rack to soar with the eagles. A stunning masterpiece has been unleashed on these pages at last!

Special Guests: Our special guests for next week's event are Bill and Anne Robinson.

Last week: Chef John made Roast Chicked with Sweet & Sour Vegetables and Fried Rice Surprise.

See Chef John ingeniously turned out a healthy, low fat masterpiece. And used a secret method for producing moist chicken roasts. Not to forget a stunning and most unusual sweet and sour sauce -- so very simple and so very nice. All this and more: Chef John's special fried rice and the sweet & sour sauce turned a mundane roast into a Chinese feast. Chef John was awarded three hats.

Surprise Guests: Our special guests for Tuesday's event were Lynda, Claudia and Lawson.

Two weeks ago: Chef Danny made Hervey Bay Scallops and Veal Saltimbocca

This much heralded contribution already has ITCOM staff lining up for doggy bags, and well they might. It was simply a stunning concert comprised of an overture of Hervey Bay's best scallops accompanied by hand rolled potato Gnocci, cubed pumkin and sage, followed by the symphony in Scallopini: veal draped in prosciutto and served with whipped potatoes and steamed greens, all bathed around with a stunning Marsala reduction. Daniel's effort scored three hats.

Three weeks ago: Chef Draga and her Rib Roast, Green Veg Mash, Potato Bake & TDragato/Basil Salad

Chef Draga was the first to face the judges. Nerves played a big part in the outcome. We also saw that you can't buy your way to a blue ribbon by getting the most expensive food. Despite what you spend you are still at the mercy of the merchant. Draga's butcher let her down badly and made her score plummet. Our valiant fist hitter scored a one hat.
