Farewell
There is a corner of my heart that is forever warmed by memories of times:
Of times when I was hurt or scared
But you were there to make it right
To shred the darkness of the night
And fill the void with love and light
Of times when I was lonely and unsure
When you were there to wrap me round
With wisdom and with love profound
So easily the way was was found
For times that span my days on earth
You deeply etched my heart and mind
You are my "Tiger, tiger burning bright"
Throughout the years of all my life
Then came the time your body failed
And trapped you soul behind a veil
Your mind could only hope and pray
That God would make you free some day
Now you have left, but I can see
Within my heart your gifts to me
The warmth, the hopes that mothers wish
Infuse my soul with thoughts so strong
That I do flood the stars with song
You will live in me until I die
Goodbye, forever
Forever and ever you will last -- until I die
