On Waste - AKA - The Critical Importance of Networking It's 3a.m. I just walked into my office to waste some more time and I paused to look at a grandchild (small, young, helpless -- all that stuff) asleep in an annex off my office. For a long while, really, great welling of joy - deepest love, gratitude - Isn't nature funny. Isn't nature a clever bugger (as we say in my country). Well naturally I started to ponder life & its tricks. So I penned this:

On Waste --OR-- The Critical Importance of Networking
I've wasted a lot of time these last few years Little One
A bit selfish of me? Society says I must never stop [stop what?]
Should you waste any time?
God forbid!
You must get to work - really quickly, and be efficient, effective
Conserve something. Or at least - regulate something
Maybe Deliver An OUTCOME!
After all you're the new Young Warrior,
YOU must strive
You MUST impress
You must get THINGS
Then you can sit on the throne of the righteous
And imagine through your fear that you are happy.
You'll know that you gave your everything to get all that you have.
All that they have
And as you die
If you're lucky you will say "I didn't waste a precious moment!"
But if you're really lucky you'll never know that you wasted
What?
Your whole life?
It's a silly, shiny society now days Little One
Maybe you lie there sheltering a small amount of innate wisdom?
Maybe your soul will survive society?
Peace, happiness, joy are tender gardens watered from within.
