Swerdna's Work Page

This page outlines the services I provide [in Brisbane, Queensland]

This web site isn't about pushing my business. It's a place for me to learn CSS & XHTML and a growing resource for Linux users, particularly openSUSE. It's essentially a hobby, so forgive me if I keep this page brief.

Services

I provide pretty much everything you would need in a home or small business environment, ranging from single computers to networks with up to 10 or 20 workstations. I'll do one off jobs, look after your I.T. needs on an occasional basis or enter into a long term relationship where I look after you I.T. needs on a continuing basis. here are some of the things I'll do. It's not an exhaustive list.

  • Install workstations
  • Install and/or maintain networks, including links to other LANs, WANs & the Internet
  • Repair hardware and/or software
  • Update hardware and/or software
  • Install and instruct on all sorts of software packages
  • Tailor, provide & maintain custom backup solutions
  • Disaster prevention & recovery
  • Problem solving with on site visits or remotely, the latter using remote desktop technology

I will advise on, procure, sell and install most sorts of I.T. technology for clients, as part of a normal service oriented relationship. But I don't sell hardware or software as a retailing exercise outside of an adjunct in a cliet-service relationship. As you would all know, there's no money in repetitive retailing except for extremely large companies.

Charges

I charge by the hour. The amount is always stated beforehand, not afterwards.

Payment

Payment for significant hardware or software is usually made up front so I can purchase it for you.

Payment for services is usually made straight after the service is rendered, unless you and I have agreed otherwise.

BarterCard

The outline above is of course for good old Aussie dollars. Q:What will I do for Bartercard trade dollars? A:all of the above service-oriented work. The procedure is exactly the same as for trading in Aussie dollars. See my BarterCard page for the current $T special and for more information.

Contact Me

Just Email me on the address below if your location is in the Greater Brisbane Area. Tell me a bit about your need/s. Include your suburb, contact name, Email address/phone number and I'll be straight in touch. My Email address can't be clicked, to prevent me being flodded by spam robots, sorry. It's easy to type the address in your Email client's address bar. Cheers for now.

Musings & Work

Like all green blooded geeks, Swerdna has to take a break from cyberland occasionally. Swerdna muses on a high cliff where contemplative works are born, or broods over a fire and issues potions and remedies, or just goes to the pub, the races, restaurants, casinos, parties, dinners, etc. Oh, I nearly forgot, Swerdna also has to work for money .
